Track your social posts
Queued, Published and Failed explained, how to cancel a scheduled post, and why every X thread turns up in Failed.
The Social page, under Tools in the sidebar, is the record of everything your marketing system has sent to your social accounts. It is a log, not a composer. Posts are written in the Content Hub and sent from there or by the autopilot.
If you have no accounts connected yet, the page says so and points you at Settings, Publishing. See Connect your social accounts.
The four filters
Across the top: All, Queued, Published and Failed, each with a count.
- Queued means the post has been handed to the publisher and is waiting for its slot. It shows the date it is scheduled for.
- Published means it went out. An external link button takes you to the live post when the platform gives one back.
- Failed means it did not go out, with the reason underneath.
- Cancelled is what a queued post becomes after you cancel it.
Click Refresh status at any time to re-check the queued posts with the publisher. The page reloads if anything changed.
Cancel a queued post
Queued posts have a trash button on the right. Click it, confirm, and the post is cancelled. Published posts cannot be cancelled from here, because they are already out.
Why every X thread lands in Failed
This is the surprise worth explaining. The autopilot posts single posts only. An X thread is written as a series of tweets joined together, which is not something it can post in one go, so it never tries.
Rather than silently skipping it, the thread is recorded on this page as Failed with the reason: this is a multi-tweet thread, autopilot posts single posts only, so it is saved here for you to post as a thread yourself. You also get a notification saying a thread needs to be posted by hand.
So a thread in Failed is not a bug and not a lost post. It is a thread waiting for you to paste it into X. Copy it from the Content Hub, post it, and move on.
The same treatment applies to a post that still contains a [link] placeholder because the article it points at is not live yet. It is held here with that reason so you can post it once the article publishes.
When nothing is connected
If a post fails because a social account is not connected or has gone inactive, the reason says so. Reconnect in Settings, Publishing and republish from the Content Hub.
