Sell with page funnels

Put pages in order (a sign-up or sales page, a one-click upsell, a downsell, a thank-you page), publish them together, and see each step's visits, sales and drop-off.

A page funnel is a few of your landing pages in order. A visitor starts on the first page and moves through the rest one step at a time: they sign up or buy, see one more thing they can add to their order with one click, and finish on a thank-you page that lists what they bought. Your page funnels are under Pages → Landing pages → Page funnels.

Page funnels are different from marketing funnels, which plan your content, lead magnets and emails. A page funnel is the pages a visitor clicks through.

The CRM no longer builds funnels: Funnels in your CRM's menu opens this screen, and old funnel addresses on crm.noliai.com forward to pages.noliai.com. The details are in Build marketing landing pages, in the section for pages made in your CRM.

The steps

  • Sign-up: visitors leave their email for a free guide, your email list or a waitlist.
  • Sales and checkout: visitors buy one of your products. The money goes to your own Stripe account.
  • Upsell: right after they buy, one more thing they can add to their order with one click.
  • Downsell: a smaller offer for buyers who said no to the upsell.
  • Page: any page whose buttons all lead to the next step.
  • Thank you: the last step. It thanks them, lists what they bought and says what happens next.

A funnel has two to eight steps, one sales and checkout step, and up to four upsells and downsells.

Create a funnel

  1. Press Page funnels, then Create a funnel.
  2. Give it a name only you see.
  3. Pick how it starts: A sign-up (then pick a free guide, your email list or a waitlist) or A sales page.
  4. Pick what you sell from your CRM products and paid courses, and, if you like, one more thing to offer after they buy and a smaller offer for buyers who say no.
  5. Pick a style and press Write my funnel.

Every page is written from your business profile in about a minute, and the funnel is saved as a draft. Nothing goes live until you publish it. To build it from pages you already have instead, press Start empty and use pages I have.

Before you sell, in your CRM: connect Stripe under Payments, and add your products with their prices under Payments → Products & Services. The price on each page comes from your CRM product.

Build and change it

The funnel's screen shows the steps in order. For each step you can:

  • Change its type, move it up or down, or remove it.
  • Pick which of your pages it shows, or press Write a page for this step.
  • On a sales, upsell or downsell step, press Pick the product to choose what it sells.
  • Press Edit this page to change its words in the page editor.

Under each step you can see where it leads. On an upsell, Yes skips the downsell and No thanks goes to it. Press Save changes when you are done. If something would stop the funnel working (an upsell with no sales step before it, a sales page that does not take payment yet), the screen says what to fix.

How the one-click upsell works

When someone buys on the sales and checkout step, Stripe keeps their card for the offers that follow, and the checkout page tells them so. On the upsell page, Yes, add it to my order charges that card straight away, on your own Stripe account, at the product's price. Pressing it twice never charges twice.

Sometimes the buyer has to finish on Stripe's page instead:

  • their bank asks them to confirm the payment,
  • the card is declined,
  • the upsell is a subscription, a course, or a product that includes a course,
  • they reached the upsell page without buying first, or
  • more than three hours have passed since they bought.

They then pay on a normal Stripe checkout for that one item and come back to the next step. No thanks never charges anything.

Publish it

Press Publish the funnel. Every step's page is published as it is now, so check them first. Only owners and admins can publish. Share the address shown at the top of the funnel: visitors start at step 1 and go through the steps in order.

To change a live funnel, edit its pages and press Publish changes. Take it down takes the funnel and its pages offline. Delete removes the funnel; its pages stay under Landing pages.

Upsell and thank-you pages written for a funnel are kept out of search results, because they only make sense inside it.

See how it is doing

The funnel's screen shows the last 30 days: visits, visitors who reached the end, sales and money taken. Each step shows its visits, how many signed up or bought there, the money it took, how many said no thanks, and the share who went no further. Money taken counts payments your CRM recorded, not checkouts people started. Your live funnels also appear on Home under This month.

Every buyer lands in your CRM contacts once, with each payment under Payments.
