Use your own domain for your pages

Your published pages already work at pages.noliai.com. If you own a domain, you can show them at your own address instead, like homes.yourbusiness.com.

The domain stays yours. Noli never buys, sells or manages domains: you keep it with the company you bought it from, and you add two records there so it points at your pages.

Before you start

• A domain you own, and a login for the place its DNS is managed. That is usually the company you bought it from (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Hover and so on), or a DNS host such as Cloudflare if you moved it there.
• An address to use. A subdomain such as homes.yourbusiness.com or offers.yourbusiness.com works best: your main website stays exactly where it is. You can connect the main domain itself (yourbusiness.com), but once it points here your pages replace whatever website is on it now.
• An owner or admin role in the workspace. Team members can see the addresses but not connect or remove them.

Each workspace can connect up to 3 addresses.

Connect the address

1. Open Landing Pages and choose Your web address.
2. Type the address, like homes.yourbusiness.com.
3. Pick the page to show at the address itself (you can change it later, or leave it empty).
4. Choose Connect address.

Noli then shows the records to add, each with a copy button:

For a main domain (yourbusiness.com) Noli shows A records with the name @ instead of the CNAME.

Once in a while Noli shows a third record, a TXT record named _vercel. That happens when the domain is also used with another account at our hosting provider. Add it too; it confirms you can use the domain here.

Copy the values from the screen rather than from this guide: the code in the TXT record is unique to your workspace.

Add the records where you manage your domain

Every provider has a DNS page where you add records. Look for DNS, DNS settings, Manage DNS or Advanced DNS on your domain. For each record:

• Type: TXT, CNAME or A, as shown.
• Name or Host: the short name Noli shows (homes, _noli-verify.homes, or @). Most providers add your domain to the end for you. If yours asks for the full name, use the "full name" line under the record in Noli.
• Value, Points to or Target: the value Noli shows.
• TTL: leave the default.

Notes for common providers (menu names change from time to time):

• GoDaddy: open your domain, then DNS, then Add New Record. If a record named homes already exists, edit or delete it first: a name can only have one CNAME.
• Namecheap: in Domain List, choose Manage next to the domain, then Advanced DNS and Add New Record.
• Cloudflare: open the domain, then DNS and Records, then Add record. Set Proxy status to DNS only (the grey cloud) for the CNAME or A records, or the check cannot see them.
• Squarespace Domains (this includes domains that were with Google Domains): open the domain, then DNS, then add a custom record.
• Hover: open the domain, then DNS, then Add a record. Hover's "Hostname" is the short name.

If your website is built with a site builder that also manages your DNS, add the records on that builder's DNS page.

Wait for the check

While Your web address is open, Noli checks every 20 seconds. You can also press Check now at any time, or leave and come back later. Most changes show up within an hour; some providers take up to 48 hours.

Each address shows one of three states:

• Waiting for DNS: the records are not found yet. The line under the address says which one is still missing.
• Live: your pages open at your address. Keep the records in place.
• Needs a fix: a record points somewhere else, or the address was live and its records were changed or removed. The line under the address says what to change.

Once an address shows Live, the secure connection (https) is set up automatically. It can take a few minutes more before every browser shows the page without a warning.

What changes once it is live

• The page you picked opens at the address itself, and every published page opens at your address followed by the page's own address, like homes.yourbusiness.com/spring-guide.
• Links you already shared on pages.noliai.com keep working. Search engines are told that your own address is the main one.
• Visit buttons in Noli, and new links Noli writes for you (such as the posts your Chief of Staff prepares for a launch), use your own address.
• Forms work the same way: sign-ups still reach your CRM, lists and follow-up emails.

Remove an address

Choose Remove on the address. Your pages stop opening there and go back to pages.noliai.com only. You can then delete the records at your provider.

Troubleshooting

• "Another Noli workspace has already connected that address": if the address is yours, email support@noliai.com and we will sort it out.
• The address points somewhere else: an older record for the same name is still there. Delete the other A, AAAA or CNAME records for that name and keep only the ones Noli shows.
• Still waiting after a day: check that the name is the short one (homes, not homes.yourbusiness.com.yourbusiness.com), that there are no spaces in the value, and on Cloudflare that the record is set to DNS only.
