Run surveys and read the results

Build a survey from a template or from scratch, send it by email or embed it, then read the aggregate summary and export the raw responses.

Surveys are how you ask a group of people the same question and get an answer you can act on. They live under Surveys in your CRM, and they are a separate tool from Forms. A form captures a lead. A survey measures something.

Build one

  1. Open Surveys and click New Survey.
  2. Choose Start from Scratch or Use a Template. There are ten templates, including Net Promoter Score, Customer Satisfaction, Product Feedback, Event Feedback, Client Onboarding, Lead Qualification, Course Feedback, Market Research and Testimonial Request.
  3. Fill in the Survey Title, an optional description, and the Thank You Message respondents see when they finish.
  4. Add your Questions. Each one has a label, a type, and a required toggle.
  5. Click Create Survey.

Question types

Alongside the usual short text, long text, email, phone, number, date, dropdown, multi select, radio buttons and checkbox, surveys add the two types that make them surveys:

  • Star Rating, scored and averaged for you.
  • NPS (0-10), the standard loyalty question.

Dropdown, multi select and radio questions take a list of options you type in.

Share it

Each survey on the list has a row of buttons:

  • Send via email opens a composer. Search your contacts or type an address, edit the subject and message, add CC or BCC if you need to, and send. The email carries a Take the Survey button.
  • Copy link puts the public survey link on your clipboard.
  • Preview opens the survey exactly as a respondent sees it.
  • Embed reveals an iframe snippet to paste into your website or a landing page.

A survey is Active by default. Click Deactivate to stop accepting responses, and Reactivate to open it again.

Read the results

Click the responses (chart) button on a survey to see the summary. Rating and NPS questions show an average. Choice questions show each option with its count and share of responses. Below that, Individual Responses lists every submission with the date, name and email.

Click Export CSV to download the raw responses, one row per respondent with a column per question.

What a survey does not do

A survey does not create or update contacts, and it does not map to your pipeline. If you want the answers to become CRM records, use a form instead.

Why it matters

Most businesses guess at satisfaction. One NPS survey sent after every completed job, with the link saved somewhere you will actually use it, turns that guess into a number you can watch move.
