Talk to your knowledge with voice chat
Have a real-time spoken conversation with your knowledge base, saved automatically as a conversation when you finish.
Sometimes it's easier to talk than to type. Voice Chat lets you have a live, spoken conversation with your knowledge base. Open Voice Chat from the Think section of the sidebar.
Start talking
Begin a session and just speak your question out loud. The AI listens, searches your documents and notes, and responds in real time, back and forth, like a phone call. It's great for thinking out loud, asking quick questions hands-free, or talking through something while you're away from the keyboard.
Voice sessions follow your Response Style and Custom Instructions, the same as typed chat.
Voice is limited to 30 sessions a day. Typed chat is unlimited, so the cap only ever affects spoken sessions.
What happens to the conversation
When you end the session the transcript is saved automatically, with an AI-written title. There's no save button and no opt-in. You'll find it in your Chat conversation list, and you can pick the thread back up by typing.
It is saved as a conversation, not as a document, so it isn't searched when you ask a question later. If something you said out loud is worth keeping in your knowledge base, copy it into a Quick Note.
If voice asks for a key
Voice runs on OpenAI's realtime service. While you still have monthly allowance, it just works. Once that's used up you need your own OpenAI key with Realtime access, added under Settings, Provider API Keys.
Tips
- Speak naturally; you don't need special phrasing.
- Use it for brainstorming or reviewing what you know on the go.
- Copy the parts worth keeping into a note so they become searchable.
