Journal and write future-self letters
Reflect with AI-assisted journaling and schedule letters to your future self with predictions to check.
Your knowledge base isn't only for facts, it's also a place to reflect. Both tools live in the Reflect section of the sidebar.
Turn them on first
Journaling and Future Self Letters are both hidden from the sidebar on a new account. If you can't see them, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and click Show all features, or open Settings and use the Navigation section. They stay visible from then on.
Journaling
Open Journaling and pick how you want to write today:
- Free Write, an open page with prompts if you want them
- Explore a Feeling, start from something you're carrying and talk it out
- Explore an Idea, think a half-formed idea through to the end
As you reflect, the AI can prompt you with thoughtful questions, help you think through what's on your mind, and connect today's entry to things already in your knowledge base. It's a low-friction way to build a regular reflection habit and keep a record you can look back on and search.
Future Self Letters
Open Future Self Letters to write a message to yourself and have it delivered later. Pick when it should arrive, and it's scheduled for that date.
A nice twist: include predictions about where you'll be by then. When the letter lands, you get to see how things actually turned out versus what you expected, a candid checkpoint on your goals and growth.
How a letter arrives
Letters are delivered as a notification inside your knowledge base, and delivery is checked every hour, so a letter lands within an hour of its date. If you have Telegram connected, you also get a Telegram message. Nothing is emailed.
Ideas to try
- Write a letter at the start of a project predicting how it'll go.
- Journal after big meetings or decisions while the details are fresh.
- Schedule a letter for a year out with your hopes for the next twelve months.
