Journal and write future-self letters
Reflect with AI-assisted journaling and schedule letters to your future self with predictions to check.
Your knowledge base isn't only for facts, it's also a place to reflect. Both tools live in the Reflect section of the sidebar.
Turn them on first
Journaling and Future Self Letters are both hidden from the sidebar on a new account. If you can't see them, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and click Show all features, or open Settings and use the Navigation section. They stay visible from then on.
Journaling
Open Journaling and pick how you want to write today:
- Explore a Feeling: name something you're carrying and work through it with guided questions
- Explore an Idea: think a half-formed idea through to the end
- Free Write: just write; the AI stays mostly quiet and reflects back a line now and then
In the guided modes the AI asks thoughtful questions and helps you think through what's on your mind. It knows the facts saved in your Memory, but it doesn't read your documents. Every session is kept in your history, which you can search.
After a few exchanges, click Save to Knowledge Base to file the AI's closing reflection as a document tagged journal, so you can find it later in chat.
Future self letters
Open Future Self Letters and click Write New Letter. Pick when it should arrive (3, 6, or 12 months from now, or a date you choose), write the letter, and it's scheduled for that date.
A nice twist: include predictions about where you'll be by then, like revenue, what you'll have launched, and your biggest risk. When the letter lands, you can answer a short reflection on how things actually turned out versus what you expected, a candid checkpoint on your goals and growth.
How a letter arrives
Delivery is checked every hour, so a letter lands within an hour of its date. It moves to the Delivered list on the Future Self Letters page, and a notice appears under Recent Notifications in Settings. If your Telegram bot is linked, the letter is also sent to you there. Ideas to try
- Write a letter at the start of a project predicting how it'll go.
- Journal after big meetings or decisions while the details are fresh.
- Schedule a letter for a year out with your hopes for the next twelve months.
