Connecting your team
Connect Microsoft Copilot to Noli
Which Microsoft Copilot can reach Noli, and how to add Noli to a Copilot Studio agent so your team can use it in Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams.
Microsoft has several products called Copilot, and they connect differently. This guide covers the business ones. If you use GitHub Copilot in VS Code, follow Connect developer tools to Noli instead.
Which Copilot can connect
- Copilot at copilot.microsoft.com, or in Windows (personal accounts). No. It only connects to a short list of Microsoft and Google services, and you cannot add your own. Use another assistant from Use Noli from your AI assistant instead.
- Copilot Studio. Yes. This is the simplest Microsoft route. You build a Copilot agent, give it Noli as a tool, and your team uses that agent, including inside Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams once it is published.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot, connected directly by an admin. Not yet. Microsoft's admin connector needs Noli to hand over a fixed sign-in client ID and secret, which Noli does not offer yet. Use Copilot Studio instead.
Who can do this in Copilot Studio
Building an agent in Copilot Studio needs a Copilot Studio license (or a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, or a trial). A trial lets you build and test in the test chat, but not publish. Your Microsoft admin can tell you which you have. Microsoft bills Copilot Studio use separately from Noli.
Before you start
You need your Noli connection address. In Noli, open the account menu in the top right and choose AI assistants, then click Copy next to the address. It is always:
https://app.noliai.com/api/agent/mcp
Add Noli to a Copilot Studio agent
Microsoft moves these menus around, so the names on yours may differ slightly.
- Open Copilot Studio and open the agent you want to give Noli to, or create a new one.
- Go to the Tools page, click Add a tool, then New tool, then Model Context Protocol.
- Fill in:
- Server name: Noli
- Server description: something like "Look up and update customers, deals, projects, notes and marketing in our Noli account." The agent uses this to decide when to call Noli.
- Server URL: your connection address.
- For authentication, choose OAuth 2.0, then Dynamic discovery. Copilot Studio finds Noli's sign-in on its own, and each person signs in with their own Noli account.
- Click Create.
- In the Add tool window, choose Create a new connection, sign in to Noli when the window opens, then click Add to agent.
Try it in the test chat before you publish the agent to your team.
Using a key instead. If your company prefers one shared connection, choose API key in step 4, set Type to Header, and name the header Authorization. Generate a key on your Noli AI assistants page under For developers, and enter it as Bearer followed by the key. Everyone using the agent then works in that one Noli account, so only do this if that is what you want.
What to try first
In the agent's test chat, try:
- "Check my Noli capabilities." The agent should list the parts of Noli it can reach.
- "Who are my five most recent contacts in Noli?"
- "Create a project in Noli called Connection test, then delete it." The project appears straight away. The delete does not: it waits under Needs you in your Noli Command Center until you approve it.
Keep the agent to one area
To let the agent see only part of Noli, add ?products= to the address before you paste it, for example https://app.noliai.com/api/agent/mcp?products=crm. The names you can use are in Use Noli from your AI assistant.
If something does not work
- The sign-in window does not open. Allow pop-ups for Copilot Studio and try again.
- "Connection refused", or the tool will not create. Check the address, especially anything after
?products=. A misspelled product name makes Noli refuse the connection on purpose. - The agent never calls Noli. Make the Server description say plainly what Noli is for, and ask about Noli by name.
- A key stopped working. Someone may have generated a new key in Noli, which switches the old one off. Generate a fresh one and update the connection.
Disconnect
In Copilot Studio, open the agent's Tools page and remove the Noli tool. Microsoft keeps the connection itself as a custom connector in Power Apps, under Custom connectors, where you can delete it. If you used a key, click Disconnect on your Noli AI assistants page as well.
Disconnecting stops the agent from reaching Noli. Your Noli account and everything in it stay exactly as they are.
