Connect ChatGPT to Noli

Add Noli to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server, sign in once, and ask ChatGPT about your customers, pipeline, projects and notes.

This guide is for anyone who works in ChatGPT at chatgpt.com. You add Noli once, sign in once, and ChatGPT can then look things up in your business and, on most plans, get work done in it.

If you use Codex, follow Connect developer tools to Noli instead.

Which ChatGPT plans can do this

OpenAI decides this, and it changes. As of October 2026, OpenAI says:

  • Business, Enterprise and Edu get full support. ChatGPT can both read from Noli and make changes in it.
  • Pro can add Noli, but ChatGPT only lets it read and look things up. It cannot make changes, such as adding a task.
  • Plus and Free are not listed by OpenAI as able to add custom servers.

You can only add Noli on the ChatGPT website, not in the phone app.

On Business, only workspace admins and owners can add a custom server. On Enterprise and Edu, an admin has to switch on Create plugins with MCPs first, under Workspace settings, then Permissions & roles. If you are not an admin, ask yours to add Noli for you, then connect your own account as shown below.

Before you start

You need your Noli connection address. In Noli, open the account menu in the top right and choose AI assistants, then click Copy next to the address. It is always:

https://app.noliai.com/api/agent/mcp

Connect it

ChatGPT renamed these menus several times in the past year. Connectors became apps, and apps now sit inside Plugins. If your screen differs, look for the closest match.

  1. Go to chatgpt.com and open Plugins in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the plus button, then Add custom MCP server.
  3. Type a name, such as Noli, and an optional description.
  4. Under Connection, paste your connection address as the Server URL.
  5. For authentication, choose OAuth. You do not need a key, and ChatGPT cannot use one.
  6. Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.
  7. ChatGPT lists the Noli tools it found. Install the plugin, and sign in to Noli when the window opens.

You do not need to switch on Developer mode first. If your ChatGPT still shows the older layout, the same thing lives under Settings, then Apps (or Apps & Connectors), then Advanced settings, where you turn on Developer mode and click Create.

For workspace admins: after you create it, publish it to your workspace from the Admin Console: choose the workspace, then Plugins, then Manage Legacy Apps, then Drafts, then Publish. Each person then connects their own Noli account. ChatGPT keeps a fixed copy of the tool list after you publish, so when Noli adds tools, click Refresh there and publish again.

Use it in a chat

Type @ in the message box and choose Noli, or click + and type its name. Your choice applies to that message, so pick Noli again when you want it.

ChatGPT asks you to confirm before Noli changes anything. That is ChatGPT's own check, and it comes on top of Noli's approvals, not instead of them. You can tell ChatGPT to remember your answer for the rest of that conversation.

What to try first

Start a new chat, pick Noli with @, and try:

  1. "Check my Noli capabilities." ChatGPT should list the parts of Noli it can reach.
  2. "Who are my five most recent contacts in Noli?"
  3. "Create a project in Noli called Connection test, then delete it." ChatGPT asks you to confirm each step. The project appears straight away. The delete does not: it waits under Needs you in your Command Center until you approve it. On Pro, ChatGPT will tell you it cannot make changes, which is expected.

Keep ChatGPT to one area

To let ChatGPT see only part of Noli, add ?products= to the address before you paste it, for example https://app.noliai.com/api/agent/mcp?products=crm. The names you can use are in Use Noli from your AI assistant.

If something does not work

  • The sign-in window does not open. Allow pop-ups for chatgpt.com and try again.
  • You cannot find Add custom MCP server. Your plan or your workspace settings may not allow it. See the plan list above, or ask your workspace admin.
  • "Connection refused", or ChatGPT cannot create the plugin. Check the address, especially anything after ?products=. A misspelled product name makes Noli refuse the connection on purpose.
  • Noli tools do not show up in a chat. Pick Noli with @ in that message. Then ask ChatGPT to check your Noli capabilities.
  • ChatGPT asks you to sign in again. Sign in again from the plugin's settings. If it keeps happening, disconnect and connect once more.
  • New Noli tools are missing. If your admin published Noli to the workspace, they need to refresh and publish it again.

Disconnect

Open Settings, then Plugins, choose Noli, open the ••• menu, and choose Disconnect. Uninstalling the plugin disconnects every account connected through it.

Disconnecting stops ChatGPT from reaching Noli. Your Noli account and everything in it stay exactly as they are.
