See your email results
Opens, clicks, unsubscribes and sign-ups for every email, sequence and newsletter, what each way of sending can measure, and subject line tests.
Email → Results shows what happened after each email went out, for every sequence, newsletter and market report email, and for each email in it. A sequence's own page shows the same numbers for its emails, and Home's This month shows this month's totals.
What the numbers mean
- Sent: emails that left your email.
- Delivered: accepted by the reader's mail server.
- Opened: opened at least once. A click counts as an open. Some mail apps open emails on their own for privacy, so treat opens as a guide rather than an exact count.
- Clicked: someone clicked a link in it.
- Unsubscribed: people who unsubscribed when this was the last email they had received.
- Bounced: it could not be delivered. A bounced address is never emailed again.
- Sign-ups: people who signed up on one of your pages after arriving from a link in this email. Links to your website and to your Noli pages are tagged so each sign-up can be traced to the email it came from.
What can be measured depends on how it was sent
- From your own sending domain. Delivered, opened, clicked and bounced are reported once delivery tracking is on: Settings → API Keys → Resend → Configure delivery tracking. Opens also need open tracking turned on for your domain in your Resend account.
- From the Gmail or Outlook you connected in Noli. A mailbox confirms that an email was sent and reports nothing after that. Delivered, opened, clicked and bounced show Not measured instead of a zero. Sent, unsubscribed and sign-ups are counted.
When some emails went from each, opens and clicks are counted over the emails from your sending domain, and the note under the numbers says how many that was.
Subject line tests
Noli writes a few subject lines for every email. With Test a second subject line on (it is on unless you turn it off, at the bottom of Email → Results), your subject and one of the alternatives both go out:
- A newsletter to 200 or more people from your own sending domain, with delivery tracking on. The first 20% of the list gets one of the two subjects (10% each). After 4 hours, the subject more people opened goes to everyone else. If it is a tie, your own subject goes.
- Everything else. A smaller list, a sequence people join over time, or anything sent from your mailbox: the two subjects take turns, and the results are reported.
- A winner is only called once each subject has gone to at least 100 people and the gap between them is clear. Until then the result says so, with the counts.
- A mailbox does not report opens, so subjects sent from it are compared by sign-ups from the email's links.
An alternative subject is only used when it passes the same checks as the email: no figure the email itself does not contain, and for real estate, the Fair Housing check. Market report emails, home value updates, seller updates, just-sold notes, listing announcements and campaign set newsletters always go out with the subject you approved.
