Understand the three modes: Launch, Omni & Genius

Learn what Launch, Omni, and Genius mode each do so you pick the right knowledge source for every project.

Every project in your project manager runs in one of three modes. The mode decides where the AI pulls its advice from when it plans and coaches you.

The three modes

  • Omni mode, General-purpose strategizing and planning. The AI reasons broadly without leaning on any specific knowledge source. This is the everyday default, and new accounts start here.
  • Genius mode, Advice grounded in your own Knowledge Base. The project manager plans using your notes and documents, so steps reflect your real material instead of generic advice. Genius mode appears in the mode menu once your Knowledge Base is connected.
  • Launch mode, Guidance drawn from the Launch Pad material. This one is a Launch Pad membership perk, so it only appears if your account is in the Launch Pad cohort. If you are not a member you will not see it, and Settings will not offer it as a default.

Switch modes

Open a project and use the mode selector in the project header to switch modes. The change applies to that project, so you can run different projects in different modes.

You can also set your preferred starting mode for new projects in Settings, under Default Mode.

When to use each

Reach for Omni for broad or exploratory thinking, and Genius when your own knowledge should drive the plan. If you are a Launch Pad member, Launch adds the Launch Pad playbook on top.
