Add documents to your knowledge base

Upload files, import web pages, and pull in YouTube videos with transcripts so your knowledge base can use them.

Documents are the foundation of your knowledge base. The more you add, the better every answer and feature becomes.

Upload files

Open Upload from the sidebar, then drag and drop files onto the box or browse for them. You can add PDFs, Word documents (DOCX), spreadsheets (XLSX, XLS, CSV), plain text, Markdown, images (JPG, PNG, WebP), and audio files (MP3, WAV, M4A). Images are read for any text they contain, and audio is transcribed automatically.

Before uploading, you can add comma-separated tags to keep things organized later. You can always tag them afterward too.

Import a web page

From the Upload page, choose the URL import option and paste a link. Your knowledge base fetches the page, extracts the readable text, and saves it as a document. Add tags or notes if you want.

Import a YouTube video

Paste a YouTube link to pull in the video's transcript. If a transcript can't be fetched automatically, you'll get the option to paste one in manually so the content still gets saved.

What happens next

Each item is processed in the background, usually within 10 to 30 seconds, then marked ready and becomes searchable. You can watch the status update on the Documents page.
