Set up AI Visibility
Turn on the weekly scan, check the questions it asks, and set the budget it may spend.
AI Visibility in the sidebar is where you find out what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers say when someone asks for a business like yours. Every week it asks your questions, records who gets named, who gets cited, and where you stand.
Most workspaces do not have to set anything up. As soon as your workspace has a website address and either a category or a real estate service area, AI Visibility switches itself on, writes your question set, and runs the first scan. Your first visit should already show a score.
Check the four things it looks for
Open AI Visibility and find the What we look for card.
- Also known as: comma-separated names that also count as you. Your own name, your team name, your brokerage, a former business name, a founder. An answer that names any of these counts as naming you. This matters most for a short or common brand name, where another business shares the word.
- What you do: the category in plain words, for example family law, HVAC repair, startup incubator. Real estate workspaces do not see this field; the service area covers it.
- City and State: where you want to be found. Real estate workspaces inherit these from the service area.
- Engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Gemini. Leave all of them on unless you have a reason not to.
Press Save. If you changed the city or the category, press Refresh questions afterwards so the question set matches.
The questions
The questions we ask lists every question in the set, with a count of the active ones. They are written from your profile: hiring questions, comparison questions, research questions and local questions.
Add your own with the box at the top of the card. Type a question the way a customer would type it into an assistant, then press Add. It runs with the next scan.
Use Archive on a question that does not represent real demand, and Reactivate if you change your mind. Use the star on a question you want run first and sampled most.
Run the first scan
Press Run this week's scan. Perplexity and Google answer within a couple of minutes. ChatGPT answers come through a queue and arrive over the next few hours; the score updates as they land, so a partial score on the first afternoon is normal.
After that the scheduler repeats the scan weekly for as long as the Weekly scans switch at the top of the page is on.
Set the budget
The Monthly budget card shows what this month has cost and what the ceiling is. It covers the AI engines and the data provider behind them. The default is ten dollars a month, and a ten-question scan is roughly forty cents a week.
Change the number and press Save. A scan that would cross the budget waits for the next month rather than spending past it.
Everything AI Visibility spends is also metered against your workspace's monthly allowance, the same as the rest of your AI usage.
Track the competitors you actually lose to
Add them under Tracked competitors: a name, and their website if you have it. Share of voice then counts how often the answers name you versus them. You can also press track next to any name in the Who AI names instead of you list.
If nobody opens the page
Weekly scans pause after eight weeks with no visit, so a workspace nobody is watching does not quietly spend money. Answers already paid for are still collected. Your next visit resumes the schedule, and the page says so.
